WE ARE NOT political in ANY sense. We have started this event to have a safe haven AWAY from political discourse that has been dividing our fandoms, conventions, video games, and the industry. People have attempted to attack our event based solely on the name alone despite not even being gamers. WE ARE NOT alt-right nor associated with the internet gag that is kekistan. We will not continue to be slandered; we will remove and ban anyone attacking the event from any angle; that one in particular. Expect possible legal charges as well.

With that being said, kekistan is a meme that has no true ties to anything other than an elaborate prank to troll “normies” or in this case; people who don’t get the joke. We are not part of that prank. We have stated about a dozen times so we decided to EXPLAIN IT FOR YOU

The Internet for Dummies

kek – The word KeK unofficially originated within gamer culture. It is a direct translation of Laugh Out Loud from a fantasy language  known as Orcish which is commonly used in old massive multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) and its use has appeared all across the internet and deep web in place of the acronym of ‘LOL’. (The term also originates from Korean, as the onomatopoeia ㅋㅋㅋ, in which ㅋ stands for the “k” sounds, like in raspy, stifled laughter. In a sci-fi real-time strategy game, the onomatopoeia was written as “Kekeke” which can be translated to “Hahaha” in English.)

Kekistan – Is a fictional country invented by users on 4chan‘s as the tongue-in-cheek ethnic origin of “shitposters” known as “Kekistanis” used to thwart and defeat identity/race politics. Its something people use in place of their nationality/ethnicity/gender to prevent judgment, discrimination or categorization based on their nationality/ethnicity/gender. What is a kekistani?

Pepe the frog – is an anthropomorphic frog character from the comic series Boy’s Club by the artist Matt Furie in 2005, which stars the teenage monster characters Pepe, Brett, Andy and Landwolf. On 4chan, various illustrations of the frog creature have been used as reaction faces, including Feels Good Man, Sad Frog, Angry Pepe, Smug Frog and Well Meme’d.

Normies – is a slang term for an individual who is deemed to be boringly conventional or mainstream by those who identify themselves as nonconformists. On 4chan’s r9k (robot) board, it is often used to describe certain characters in greentext stories.
